Metacrilato is an injectable implant composed of micro spheres of polymethylmethacrilate with 40/60 micra of diameter. It is presented as a suspension in a chemical colloid, composed of carboximethylcelulose, and is biologically inert.
The correction of the defect treated by the Metacrilato, therefore, is obtained by the sum of the product’s volume (represented by the micro spheres and the medium), together with the body reaction to the substance.

Technical Information:
The correction of the defect treated by the Metacrilato therefore, is obtained by the sum of the product’s volume (represented by the micro spheres and the medium), together with the body reaction to the substance. According to the literature, and our own research with Wistar rats, this reaction is progressive, beginning in two weeks and prolonging for 2 months.
The utilization of the PMMA with the suspensor medium, has been clinically observed for 8 years already, being preceded by microbiological, histological and biocompatibility studies. The histological response is always the same, thus predicting the biological evolution of the implanted area.
