Strip Hair Graft

Strip Hair Graft

Rhinoplasty is surgery that modifies the shape of the nose, and is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in plastic surgery.

This method of hair restoration allows the patient a high degree of satisfaction because it is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that is performed under local anesthesia and that it can cover wide areas of baldness with very natural results. Together with the FUE technique, the FUSS technique is one of the most demanded treatments for male and female alopecia in our hair clinic.
In an approximate time of between 4 and 6 hours, around 2,500 anatomically defined follicular units are obtained. These follicles are extracted from the lateral and posterior zone of the scalp, these areas being free of alopecia. The donor STRIP is obtained through a methodical dissection performed with very delicate surgical material and augmentation systems, which allow the surgeon to avoid damaging microscopic structures of the skin itself. In this sense there is no risk of losing sensitivity.
The novel TRICHOPHYTIC CLOSURE of the scar allows hair to grow inside the scar. The closure is carried out in several planes to avoid tension in the surface between the edges of the same. The suture material used is deeply absorbable, the internal tension of the scar will gradually decrease.
From this moment on, the donor material begins to be evaluated, observing the characteristics of the follicular units, color, thickness and density. The latter is measured in square centimeters, assessing the number of follicular units and the number of hairs per unit. Usually it ranges from 50 to 100 follicular units per cm² in patients with high density.
Each follicular unit is fractionated under precision material, preventing the temperature from rising and damaging the follicle. This allows you to keep your follicular units in their natural state, dividing each group according to the number of hairs. While they are being prepared, incisions are made in the recipient area to later place the follicles.

Aftercare

After the first day after undergoing a FUSS or STRIP transplant operation, the patient can wash the scalp by letting the water run gently without using shampoo or rubbing the area. Between days 2 and 6 the patient is given permission to lather the head with baby shampoo (mild) without scratching or rubbing using only the fingertips. From this time the patient can carry out personal hygiene as usual.
After a few months the scar will be practically undetectable, even with short hair. Obviously, shaving would expose her. In most cases the scar is fine, but this will depend on each individual and their biology.
