Thigh Lift

This procedure, also called a thighplasty, is especially useful for people who have excess loose skin from weight loss.

The thigh lift is a surgical procedure aimed at improving the shape and smoothness of the legs for the following reasons:

  • Improve the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, thinks that the skin on her thighs is loose.
  • Correct a reduction in the volume of the legs and thighs and a consequent sagging skin, after a significant reduction in weight.

By pulling the skin both superiorly and medially, we can smooth out the distended skin of the thigh and elevate sagging tissue.

What this surgery provides is an improvement in the smoothness and shape of the legs, thus improving the body contour as it reduces the volume of the legs and thighs.

The Crural Lift intervention consists first of all in emptying the area of fat (liposuction), and then removing the excess skin by stretching it towards the groin.

Postoperative

In the days after the intervention, semi-rest is recommended, which implies limitation of movements since the patient will present inflammation in the area.

Frequently Asked Questions

A thigh lift can improve your appearance and thus your self-esteem. However, before it is performed, you should carefully review your expectations and discuss them with the surgeon.
It is performed under local anesthesia -epidural-, and the procedure takes approximately two hours. The incision is really small and is made in the groin crease. The intervention consists first of all in emptying the area of fat (liposuction), when so decided, and then removing excess skin by stretching it towards the groin. The scar will be hidden in the crease of the groin.
You will feel a little tired and uncomfortable for the first few days after the intervention and you will need to rest for a day or two to avoid stressing the sutures. You can return to a normal life after a week. Most of the discomfort will be treated with painkillers. The sutures will be removed in approximately two weeks. The legs will not recover their normal appearance until after a few months.
The thigh lift leaves scars in relatively inconspicuous places and, for many patients, they do not compare with the benefits of the procedure. In many cases they can be hidden with underwear or a bathing suit. Unfortunately, scarring is one aspect of thigh lift surgery that patients must weigh against the benefits of removing excess fatty tissue and skin.
