Technique
It consists of the elimination of excess skin and the relocation of the mammary gland. If not, a prosthesis can be placed in addition to removing skin. The scars are limited to the peri-areolar area and another vertical area.
In these cases, as in those of breast reduction, the acceptance of the patient's healing must be considered, a point to take into account when deciding on the intervention.
Pre-Operative
- Complete blood analysis.
- E.C.G.
- Chest X-rays.
- Bilateral mammography.
Postoperative
You must wear a suitable sports bra. Avoid movement and excessive effort , during the first 15 days after the intervention, coinciding with the total removal of stitches.
Aftercare
After the total removal of the stitches, treatment and care of the scars will begin, to obtain the most optimal result. Depending on whether a prosthesis is implanted, the care will be complemented with progressive massages starting approximately 15 days after the intervention, in order to distend the capsule that forms around the prosthesis and avoid a capsular contracture.
Capsular contracture: Scar tissue that forms internally around the implant can contract and make the prosthesis round, firm, and possibly painful. The treatment for it could require surgery, change of the implant and even removal of it.
