Technique
Through an incision located in a fold of the popliteal fossa (upper posterior knee), the superficial fascia of the leg is penetrated, making a pocket between it and the deep aponeurosis of the thighs. calves, from the site of the approach to the site of the muscle where the Achilles tendon begins, and the width of the leg. Usually biodimensional prostheses are placed. Before the intervention, the most suitable implant will be selected for the patient's dimensions.
It is closed with sutures in 3 planes, sterile dressings are placed, and a compression bandage of the entire leg, to avoid edema and displacement of the implants.
Postoperative
The first few days you will feel light discomfort that will be treated with analgesics. We recommend 2 days of bed rest preferably face down and avoid excessive walking. In two or three days the drains are removed.
The first few weeks you will have some inflammation and strange sensations on your skin that will gradually decrease. The sutures will be removed in approximately two weeks. the recovery of the legs to their normal appearance will take approximately one month.
