Technique
The most common intervention is what we call closed rhinoplasty. It is performed through incisions inside the nose in such a way that there is no visible external scar.
Through these the surgeon can carve and shape the bones and cartilage of the nose, configuring a new structure. Subsequently, the skin is retracted and adapted until the desired shape is achieved.
In cases that are particularly difficult, particularly large deformities, the so-called open rhinoplasty will be performed. In this type of intervention, a small scar will remain at the base of the spine.
Postoperative
Once the intervention is finished, we proceed to a mild nasal packing and a plaster splint is placed on the nose. In the days that follow, edema and inflammation of the eyelids may occur.
The nasal packing is removed on the second day. The splint between 7 – 10 days.
Aftercare
Until the removal of the splint, no special care is required except for logical medical control. For the recovery of the skin, we will perform drainage for the edema.
