Technique
The labia minora are two structures that are inside the labia majora, closing the entrance to the vagina and protecting the clitoris and the urethra. The surgery basically consists of cutting the excess tissue and shaping the rest. Sometimes it is complemented with a small infiltration of fat to give greater volume to the labia (permanent fillers should never be infiltrated).
Like any surgical procedure, labiaplasty has risks, including temporarily decreasing erogenous sensitivity. It is usually performed under local anesthesia and sedation.
Postoperative
After surgery, it is advisable to rest for 24 hours.
The operation can cause a large edema that can spread to neighboring tissues. To speed up recovery and reduce swelling sooner, the patient can receive manual lymphatic drainage sessions.
Aftercare
Wear comfortable clothing, no tight clothing, thongs or jeans.
We suggest “pelvic rest” for six to eight weeks. This means that you should not use tampons or vibrators, as well as obtain sexual intercourse.
It is advisable not to lift objects or perform activities that force you to bend down or make efforts, trying to avoid creating tension at the level of the sutures,
You should treat your genital area gently during its healing phase.
